Apparently this is the time of year for birthdays, or something. In six days, my little girl is going to be three years old. It's amazing how quickly time flies. It seems like just yesterday that she was taking her first steps, and now I can't take my eyes off her for a minute. There's just something about birthdays, whether it's your own or even that of a parent or child, that triggers nostalgia. Or maybe it's just me, being a sappy momma about my little one growing up.

Although I am not necessarily a supporter of capital punishment, I have to admit that I am glad that Greyback is going to be executed. I worried for Gwen's safety before he was captured, and it is a relief to know that he will no longer be a threat to children everywhere.
My cupboards are presently full of the Wee Witches' candy apples. I probably bought way too many, but when you combine their absolute adorableness with my own daughter's begging of "Please Mommy!" it's nearly impossible to say no. I'm a little afraid of what will happen if Gwen ever joins.
Oh, and Roni! Gwen wants to know when we can go back to the zoo with you.

Happy Summer Solstice! Gwen and I have spent the day out having fun, but no rollercoaster for her yet. We did do the Ferris wheel, though.

I have to admit, I kind of thought that all the stories about this street were highly exaggerated. After living here for only a couple of weeks, though, I have to say that they definitely don't seem to have been that exaggerated.
Gwen loved playing out in the snow yesterday. Nevermind that it's May, of course.

Right, so. Now that I'm done laughing at my own predicament ... but I'm really quite handsome as a bloke. And it's certainly not horrible to stand when you go to the loo! Actually, it's kind of fun! My aim's certainly improved since this morning ... right, crossing that out now! Seem to have spilled my ink, my hands are just so much bigger today than they were yesterday!
Anyway, we've yet to figure out what, exactly, is causing all of this, but on the plus side, it does seem to go away after a day, but rest assured that we, your wonderful Accidental Magic Reversal Squard, are working to figure this whole thing out.
In the meantime, to speed things up for us a bit, if anyone can remember doing anything unusual before, well, getting in touch with your feminine or masculine side, that would help us out a lot in solving this.
You know what sounds really good? A pint at Kelly's.

So, changing a little boy's diaper is a lot different than changing a little girl's diaper. I was also not exactly planning to have to tell my daughter about the differences between boys and girls for a long time, but when she -- or, ... he? today -- asked me "what's that?" when pointing to her new thing between her legs ...
... kids don't remember much from when they're two, do they? Please say no
Also, blokes ... are they always so itchy?

The benefits of living a fairly sparse lifestyle: there's not a whole lot to unpack when you move. Unpacking Gwen's toys took the longest. Unfortunately, now my new flat looks bare and empty, which of course means that I'm just going to have to go shopping. To everyone in 239 Euphoria Lane, hi, I'm your new neighbor in 4B. Is the landlady always this friendly? She's been by three times today already. I only just now got her out because it was Gwen's naptime.
Oh, and my name is Matilda Dukelow and Gwen is my daughter. She's two, turning three in August, and I'm told that I talk about her a lot. Until recently, we've been living with my mum and grandparents in Wales, so that they could help me take care of her, but really, living with your mum and grandparents puts a horrible crimp in your social life. I also don't like staying in one place for so long, so I decided it was about time for a change for myself and Gwen, and here we are.
And now that I've bored you all with my recent history, I think I might take advantage of the fact that my daughter is napping and take a nap myself.
